A number of Check Points will be set up along the route, details of which are listed below :
Check Point Route Details
CP 1

The walk will start from The Square, Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung, before passing through a pedestrian subway and over a pedestrian flyover ahead of turning into Tung Chung Road. Participants will then turn to Wong Ka Yuen and walk along a country path leading to the Office of the Shek Mun Kap Rural Committee where CP 1 is located.

CP 2

After leaving CP 1, participants will ascend the Tei Tong Tsai Country Trail where a small stream runs by the right hand side of the trail. Upon rejoining Tung Chung Road, participants will walk along the side of this road up to Pak Kung Au and the entrance of Section No. 3 of the Lantau Trail.  Participants will shortly thereafter arrive at CP 2 which will be established at the nearby pagoda.

CP 3

Participants will leave CP 2 and head West towards the top of Lantau Peak which is approximately 930 m above sea level.  Arriving at the top of Lantau Peak, participants will have a bird’s eye view of the scenic North Lantau Country Park beneath.  Participants then take a long and steep flight of steps down to SG Davis Youth Hostel where CP 3 is located.

CP 4

After leaving The Hong Kong Bank Foundation SG Davis Hostel, participants will pass through Tian Tan Buddha Statue Square to Ngong Ping Market. Participants will enter Ngong Ping Trail and continue until reaching the Cable Car Turning Point at Nei Lak Shan where CP4 is located.

CP 5

After leaving CP 4, participants will descend down the Ngong Ping Trail passing the Hau Wong Bridge to the front door of Tung Chung Outdoor Training Camp.  For safety reasons, participants should proceed with extra care along the Ngong Ping Trail where running is strictly prohibited.

 

From CP4, Participants will pass the Hau Wong Temple and Yat Tung Estate before reaching the Finish Point at The Square, Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung.

Challenger 23km
This route is marked in green on the Route Map.  The length is approximately 23 km, covering some of the most scenic spots in the Lantau North Country Park.  A total of 5 Check Points ( CP ) will be set up along this route :

Important notes:

  1. The Challenger is a very demanding route, and it is suitable only for participants who have taken  regular exercise and are physically capable of completing a hike lasting 6 to 8 hours.
  2. Participants who do not arrive at each Check Point before its closing time will not be awarded a Certificate of Completion for the Walk.
  3. Drinking water will be supplied at CP2, CP3 and CP5.

Explorer 17km
This route is marked in yellow  on the Route Map.     Its length is approximately 17 km, covering many scenic spots within the Lantau North Country Park.  A total of 4 Check Points ( CP ) will be set up along this route :

Important notes:

  1. Drinking water will be supplied at CP3: Ngong Ping and CP5: Tung Chung Bay.

  3. For safety reasons, participants should take extra care when descending the Ngong Ping Trail where running is strictly prohibited.

 Leisure 8 km
It is a non competition route. This route is marked with a red dotted line on the Route Map. Its length is approximately 8 km. and will pass through a number of scenic and historical locations, selected for their ecotouring suitability. There will be game booths and eco-tours during the walk. Points set up along this route :

Important Notes : 
Participants must report to the Finish Point set up at The Hong Kong Bank Foundation SG Davis Hostel before 14:00 hours in order to qualify for a Certificate of Completion to be awarded by the Association after the Walk.
